| | | Held yesterday at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, the Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar was a thrill. The event promoted and sold not only Japanese foods/snacks but also introduced Ennichi to local citizens. "Ennichi is a happy event in Japan. People celebrate it by playing games and prominent roads will be filled with stalls selling different kinds of food," said organising chairman Fumiko Kudo at The Star.
Preston, Ultrabeast and I arrived early at the bazaar but the Grand Ballroom was already crowded when we were there. Preston, who reminded me to bring my DSLR camera to the event, played the role of a photographer of the day and was taking photos like mad while Ultrabeast and I enjoyed looking at many interesting items for sale there. Retailed at 11,800yen, Ryoko Asakura arrival completes the series today (if there's no further bunny girls release). Initially, FREEing released 5 girls -Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru, Kyon's sister and Tsuruya- and later added Emiri Kimidori and Ryoko Asakura to the family. For the uninitiated, they are all anime characters of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and you might want to read this up to know more about them.

I wasn't planning to unbox Emiri Kimidori until I get myself a new display cabinet due to space crisis on my desk but Ryoko Asakura's arrival was too tempting, I just had to get her out of the box! Most of my Nendoroids were relocated to free up space for both Emiri Kimidori and Ryoko Asakura. It took me a while to figure out the best arrangement for all these bunny girls. After I was comfortable with the settings, I moved my Nendoroids back in and took Ryoko Asakura out of the group for the following shot.

Thanks. Hey, that's her selling point in my opinion, blue suits Ryoko Asakura best! And yeah, if are not into Haruhi, it's best to avoid the bunny girls at all cost, otherwise you'll ended up with a big hole in your pocket.

Initially I wanted to preorder this figure at play-asia.com but later decided to get her straight from local shop XL-shop.com although they are sometimes very slow at getting Japanese figures :)

(LOL! You should rob XL instead!) Well I do believe that there are many hardcore Haruhi fans who have all the bunny girls too. Nope, my username is ayumi hamasaki at Lowyat forum, not quite active there however.

I went to the site and found they still have it in stock for a price much cheaper than any of the other figure shops i've seen online.
I'll be looking forward to it arriving. I just hope that it is in actually in stock.
I'm glad that they don't charge in US dollars. The Australian dollar is really weak agains the US dollar and yen.

I don't really care for her character (Really, she said like one thing in the anime and she left) but she does have the best ear disign am I right? The two that bug me the most are Tsuruya and Yuki, they are so well made but the ears. :{ And Ryoko's is so different from the others. I guess I'm fine with Mikuru's ears. Point is that they should of stuck with the same disign at least.

However in despair, I did a google for shops selling it and amazingly Hobby Search have just restocked for only 10,677 yen!

Views: 2741 | | | Released early this year was eroge Beat Blades Haruka (or Chouko Sennin Haruka) which is widely known as the successor of Alicesoft's famous eroge Beat Angel Escalayer and presumably due to its popularity, the main character of the eroge, Haruka gets modelled in the form of 3D figurine now. Haruka, which is made by Alter is a "standard" scaled figure at 1/8 and comes in an attractive packaging shown below.
Alter wasn't only the maker of Haruka, in fact, Kotobukiya was the first figurine maker to release Haruka with similar dynamic stance coincidently. If my memory serves me well, Alter announced Haruka a few days after Kotobukiya did. Later, Kotobukiya announced Haruka Damaged version.
There are minor but notable difference between Alter's and Kotobukiya's Haruka such as Haruka's expression, body proportions and her base. The Haruka in my possession is made by Alter since I have had good experience with them.

Yeah, I just find eroge characters very attractive. Takamori Haruka is just my type of 2D girl, I mean 3D for figurine now. If she gets "Nendoroidized" I'll definitely buy her too.

Thanks! Hate to say this but they are heavily Photoshopped LOL!!! Level was adjusted from 255 to 210, Contrast was bumped up +5 and Saturation +10 for most photos above. ISO was set to 100 as always to minimize noise. I was using "Av" mode by the way. Due to lighting problem I decided to shoot her on my desk using my existing figurines as background and although the results may be a bit distracting, they turned out to be colourful.

Arigatou! I'm a still a beginner when it comes to photography so I do not have an easy recommendation about getting a DSLR. The Canon 450D seems to serve me very well till now, at least I could get the results I want. You might want to look into Canon 1000D alternatively.
