| | | Held yesterday at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, the Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar was a thrill. The event promoted and sold not only Japanese foods/snacks but also introduced Ennichi to local citizens. "Ennichi is a happy event in Japan. People celebrate it by playing games and prominent roads will be filled with stalls selling different kinds of food," said organising chairman Fumiko Kudo at The Star. Preston, Ultrabeast and I arrived early at the bazaar but the Grand Ballroom was already crowded when we were there. Preston, who reminded me to bring my DSLR camera to the event, played the role of a photographer of the day and was taking photos like mad while Ultrabeast and I enjoyed looking at many interesting items for sale there. Preston mentioned that he will walk you through the event later in his blog, tanomu! | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar entrance | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar entrance | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar, the Grand Ballroom | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Yummy red bean Yokomon | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: You can dress up in a Yukata and get yourself photographed! | | | | Above: These girls just finished their photography session at the studio. | | | | Above: Preston, you missed her portrait shot! | | | | Above: Instead of goldfish, you get rubber balls (=_=)" | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above:This kid has a target in sight. | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | There was a Chanoyu section where you witness the Japanese Tea Ceremony.. | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | | | | Above: Japan Charity Fiesta and Bazaar | Omake Of course, I didn't go back empty-handed and I got myself some very old figurines and magazines at discounted prices! | | | Above:Kaiyodo EVA-03 and EVA-04, MYR45 each. | | | | Above: Bandai's Limited Model series, MYR10 each! | I wasn't a figurine collector in the early Y2K and therefore these magazines are definitely interesting to look at now. | | | Above: Old Figurine Magazines! | | | | Above: Evangelion diorama | | | | Above: Perfect Grade EVA-01 | | | | Above: Kotobukiya's Kizuato girls! | | | | Above: The LOVE HINA girls! | | | ------------------ Last Edited: - | Permalink ------------------ | | Fariz Asuka (Singapore) Posted November 11th, 2008 8:33 am (Tue) | Wow.. | | Ryoko Asakura Bunny Version Posted: October 24th, 2008 6:16 am (Fri) by Divine Fang Tag: All, Figure, FREEing, Ryoko Asakura, Suzumiya Haruhi Views: 2167 | | | Produced by FREEing, these large 1/4 scale bunny girls can easily inflict serious damage to anyone's wallet. Retailed at 11,800yen, Ryoko Asakura arrival completes the series today (if there's no further bunny girls release). Initially, FREEing released 5 girls -Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru, Kyon's sister and Tsuruya- and later added Emiri Kimidori and Ryoko Asakura to the family. For the uninitiated, they are all anime characters of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and you might want to read this up to know more about them. | | Above: FREEing 1/4 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Bunny Girls Tsuruya-san (yellow), Yuki Nagato (white), Mikuru Asahina (red), Emiri Kimidori (purple), Kyon's sister (pink), Haruhi Suzumiya (black), Ryoko Asakura (blue) | I wasn't planning to unbox Emiri Kimidori until I get myself a new display cabinet due to space crisis on my desk but Ryoko Asakura's arrival was too tempting, I just had to get her out of the box! Most of my Nendoroids were relocated to free up space for both Emiri Kimidori and Ryoko Asakura. It took me a while to figure out the best arrangement for all these bunny girls. After I was comfortable with the settings, I moved my Nendoroids back in and took Ryoko Asakura out of the group for the following shot. | | | Above: FREEing 1/4 Ryoko Asakura | Omake Ryoko Asakura back in 2D mode! | | ------------------ Last Edited: October 24th, 2008 6:23 am (Fri) | Permalink ------------------ | | Jus a loser (Kuala Lumpur) Posted October 24th, 2008 6:22 am (Fri) | MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Thats over 2k in total for your collection there!!!! Man lucky that i'm not a bani-garu guy, that's a relieve..... Nice full set collection!!! | | Panther (Urban Hell) Posted October 24th, 2008 12:07 pm (Fri) | Lol WTF all the bunny girls. I admit though Asakura has me interested, but only because of the blue. Then again, I am not into Haruhi. | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 25th, 2008 3:09 am (Sat) | @ Jus a loser, Arigatou! That should cost approximately MYR2500, bani-garu saikou! @ Panther, Thanks. Hey, that's her selling point in my opinion, blue suits Ryoko Asakura best! And yeah, if are not into Haruhi, it's best to avoid the bunny girls at all cost, otherwise you'll ended up with a big hole in your pocket. | | Mizunaga (Malaysia) Posted October 25th, 2008 10:31 am (Sat) | *Slurp* I am jealous, I tell you! Jealous! I will track you down and steal all your bunnies. :P | | gordon (Singapore) Posted October 25th, 2008 11:57 am (Sat) | nice collection! next up bunny kyon and itsuki. XD | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 25th, 2008 1:57 pm (Sat) | @ Mizunaga, *Hides my bunnies* LOL! Arigatou! @ gordon, NOOOOO!!!!!! *Heart attack* | | フェイダムさん (Singapore) Posted October 25th, 2008 11:41 pm (Sat) | MUST... NOT... FAP... IN... BROAD... DAYLIGHT... | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 26th, 2008 6:37 am (Sun) | @ フェイダムさん, LOL! | | Tim (Australia) Posted November 7th, 2008 4:59 pm (Fri) | Just curious, where did you order the figure from? I have a few of the FREEing bunny figures, but they were purchased in a previous trip to Japan. | | Haruji (Kuala Lumpur) Posted November 8th, 2008 2:42 am (Sat) | (I should come and rob you one day LOLz) Anyways nice Bunny-chan, the only person in Malaysia that I know owns the whole set of Bunny-chans is Integra from LowYat forums. Any chance you are him? LOLz. | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted November 8th, 2008 3:47 am (Sat) | @ Tim, Initially I wanted to preorder this figure at play-asia.com but later decided to get her straight from local shop XL-shop.com although they are sometimes very slow at getting Japanese figures :) @ Haruji, (LOL! You should rob XL instead!) Well I do believe that there are many hardcore Haruhi fans who have all the bunny girls too. Nope, my username is ayumi hamasaki at Lowyat forum, not quite active there however. | | Tim (Australia) Posted November 8th, 2008 7:59 am (Sat) | @ Dvine, Thanks for the reply, I went to the site and found they still have it in stock for a price much cheaper than any of the other figure shops i've seen online. I'll be looking forward to it arriving. I just hope that it is in actually in stock. I'm glad that they don't charge in US dollars. The Australian dollar is really weak agains the US dollar and yen. | | Mutsumifruit3 (USA) Posted November 9th, 2008 4:06 pm (Sun) | I wish all the bunnys had the same ear disign as Emiri's (? name right?) I don't really care for her character (Really, she said like one thing in the anime and she left) but she does have the best ear disign am I right? The two that bug me the most are Tsuruya and Yuki, they are so well made but the ears. :{ And Ryoko's is so different from the others. I guess I'm fine with Mikuru's ears. Point is that they should of stuck with the same disign at least. | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted November 10th, 2008 2:03 am (Mon) | @ Tim, Welcome! @ Mutsumifruit3, Right! Emiri has the best bunny ears. And talk about minor character, Kyon's sister doesn't even have a name, they just called her Kyon's sister =_=" | | Tim (Australia) Posted November 11th, 2008 5:34 am (Tue) | I rang up XL shop and they told me they rang out of stock. :( However in despair, I did a google for shops selling it and amazingly Hobby Search have just restocked for only 10,677 yen! I've got mine ordered. If anyone else was searching for this figure, you know where to look. | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted November 12th, 2008 1:33 am (Wed) | @ Tim, L.U.C.K.Y!!! By the way, Tim was referring to 1999.co.jp and Ryoko was labeled "Sold out" minutes ago. | | | | | |
 | | Beat Blades Haruka Posted: October 17th, 2008 4:42 am (Fri) by Divine Fang Tag: All, Figure, Beat Blades Haruka, Takamori Haruka, Sennin Narika Views: 2741 | | | Released early this year was eroge Beat Blades Haruka (or Chouko Sennin Haruka) which is widely known as the successor of Alicesoft's famous eroge Beat Angel Escalayer and presumably due to its popularity, the main character of the eroge, Haruka gets modelled in the form of 3D figurine now. Haruka, which is made by Alter is a "standard" scaled figure at 1/8 and comes in an attractive packaging shown below. Alter wasn't only the maker of Haruka, in fact, Kotobukiya was the first figurine maker to release Haruka with similar dynamic stance coincidently. If my memory serves me well, Alter announced Haruka a few days after Kotobukiya did. Later, Kotobukiya announced Haruka Damaged version. There are minor but notable difference between Alter's and Kotobukiya's Haruka such as Haruka's expression, body proportions and her base. The Haruka in my possession is made by Alter since I have had good experience with them. *Not Safe For Work contents follow* Eroge gamers might want to read up Mou Yamete since they have got some hands-on experience with the game. Additionally, Wikia seems to have some handy walkthrough there. | | | | | Above: Alter's Beat Blades Haruka box | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | Omake Alicesoft's official website has got some downloable contents at the Movie section. Do check them out :) | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka | | | | Above: Beat Blades Haruka OP (12.8MB) | | | ------------------ Last Edited: October 17th, 2008 6:52 am (Fri) | Permalink ------------------ | | Jus a loser (Kuala Lumpur) Posted October 17th, 2008 9:40 am (Fri) | hmmmm.... i never thought you've actually bought this cause it cost a quite an amount, but hey not a bad figurine though, but i still can't afford it since i got my hands on nendoroids lately (Primula, Shana dengeki, Tsukasa). | | gordon (Singapore) Posted October 17th, 2008 12:27 pm (Fri) | love the rear shot the most. the shots looks bright and clear. how did u do it? what ISO did u use? | | Dvine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, KL) Posted October 18th, 2008 12:31 am (Sat) | @ Jus a loser, Yeah, I just find eroge characters very attractive. Takamori Haruka is just my type of 2D girl, I mean 3D for figurine now. If she gets "Nendoroidized" I'll definitely buy her too. @ gordon, Thanks! Hate to say this but they are heavily Photoshopped LOL!!! Level was adjusted from 255 to 210, Contrast was bumped up +5 and Saturation +10 for most photos above. ISO was set to 100 as always to minimize noise. I was using "Av" mode by the way. Due to lighting problem I decided to shoot her on my desk using my existing figurines as background and although the results may be a bit distracting, they turned out to be colourful. | | FarizAsuka (Singapore) Posted October 18th, 2008 11:32 am (Sat) | Those I some nice pics of Haruka, especially the low angler shot of her.. xD BTW, Im always fascinated in getting a DSLR camera.. Can you recommend me a few with good value. ^^ | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 18th, 2008 12:02 pm (Sat) | @ Fariz Asuka, Arigatou! I'm a still a beginner when it comes to photography so I do not have an easy recommendation about getting a DSLR. The Canon 450D seems to serve me very well till now, at least I could get the results I want. You might want to look into Canon 1000D alternatively. | | Mizunaga (Malaysia) Posted October 21st, 2008 11:38 am (Tue) | Very nice figure, this one. Shame I did not get her. : | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 22nd, 2008 9:02 am (Wed) | @ Mizunaga, I'd say one of my favorites now. What are you waiting for? Get her from XiaoLoong. Opps... just labelled "sold out" there. Might want to look into other sources. | | | | | |
